Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – PflugervilleShift/Status: Full Time, 36 hrs/wkSchedule: Night Shift (7pm – 7am)Main Nursing UnitPatient Population: Medical Surgical, Orthopedics, Intermediate Care, Critical Care # of beds: 25, with the anticipation of doubling in size with the expansionPatient Ratios: Med Surg/Tele – 1:4/5, Progressive Care/Intermediate Care – 1:3, Intensive Care – 1:2*This is a mixed acuity unit. Ideal candidates will have IMC or ICU experience. Must be flexible and able to work in Med/Surg, ICU, IMC units based upon the department needs.*About the FacilityBaylor Scott & White - Pflugerville is a full-service hospital, providing a wide network of medical expertise and resources. Baylor Scott & White - Pflugerville features a 25-bed Main Nursing Unit which is a blended unit with three levels of acuity and operates from a multidisciplinary approach in providing the highest standards of nursing care to patients and families. The facility also offers 24/7 emergency services (an 8-bed Emergency Department) and surgical services (offering adult and pediatric surgeries).Baylor Scott & White – Pflugerville is currently under construction for an expansion. The improvements include a brand new heart catheterization lab for minimally invasive procedures, increased imaging options including nuclear medicine, added emergency and trauma services and improvements to operating room capabilities. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.<h4>Essential Functions of the Role</h4><ul><li>As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.</li><li>Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.</li><li>Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.</li><li>You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.</li><li>Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.</li><li>You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.</li><li>Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.</li></ul><h4>Key Success Factors</h4><ul><li>A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.</li><li>Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
