Historic Affordable Housing Project Underway in Bay View
Bear Development has embarked on the Filer & Stowell project in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood, a historic $197 million development. Acquiring the 10-acre site for $10 million, the project envisions 576 affordable apartments, including 144 units specifically for seniors. Notable for being Wisconsin’s largest private affordable housing development, the project integrates federal low-income housing tax credits and city TIF assistance. Construction has commenced, with completion projected between June 2025 and October 2026.
