<p><strong>Hours:</strong> 08:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday</p>
<p><strong>Salary: </strong>Up to £18.50 per hour (circa £38,000 per annum)</p>

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing business specialising in high-quality steel fabrication. This is a permanent, full-time position offering long-term stability, structured training, and genuine progression opportunities. High performers can earn up to £1,000 per week.</p>
<p>You will be part of a skilled fabrication team producing industry-leading bunded fuel tanks, bowsers, and bespoke steel fabrications up to 85,000 litres. Products are manufactured to premium standards for well-known UK and international brands, supplying sectors including mining, construction, agriculture, aviation, and industrial markets.</p>
<p>This role involves the fabrication and manufacture of high-spec diesel and aviation fuel storage equipment, working primarily with carbon steel and occasionally stainless steel.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Fabricate and weld vessels, pipework, and structural components from engineering drawings</li>
<li>MIG welding primarily on 3–6mm carbon steel, with some TIG welding on stainless steel</li>
<li>Carry out cutting, welding, grinding, and finishing to a high standard</li>
<li>Work with pipe and flange assemblies in both carbon and stainless steel</li>
<li>Ensure work is completed within standard times and quality requirements</li>
<li>Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping within the workshop</li>
<li>Pass completed work to the next production stage to specification</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Key Skills </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in welding and fabrication</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of MIG welding (TIG experience advantageous)</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret design and manufacturing drawings accurately</li>
<li>Experience welding in all positions</li>
<li>Use of gas cutting equipment</li>
<li>Experience using overhead cranes and slinging</li>
<li>Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices</li>
<li>Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks</li>
<li>Basic maths skills</li>
<li>Good attention to detail and quality-focused mindset</li>
<li>Able to work independently with minimal supervision</li>
<li>Strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude</li>
<li>Spoken English an advantage</li>
<li>Live within easy commuting distance of Heysham (LA3)</li>
<li>Previous welder coding and references required</li>
