About the Role
<strong>Location:</strong> Horley<br><strong>Salary:</strong> £28,000 – £32,000<br><strong>Hours:</strong> 39 Hours per week <br> <br> <strong>The Role</strong><br> We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a global manufacturing leader of electromechanical testing machinery. You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of machines and accessories, ensuring all components are fitted to high precision standards.<br><br><br> <br> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><ul><li>Mechanically assemble and build machines, including the fitting of wiring looms and electronic displays.<br><br></li><ul><li>Competently operate tool room equipment, including Pillar Drills, Manual Lathes, Manual Milling machines, and Horizontal Grinders.<br><br></li><li>Fabricate special tools as required and maintain all associated tooling.<br><br></li><li>Ensure all parts are adapted and collated for equipment testing while maintaining quality assurance standards.<br><br></li><li>Interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances to ensure accurate assembly.<br><br><br> Collaborate with the Assembly Supervisor to report progress, manage drawings, and suggest improvements to working practices.<br><br></li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Requirements</strong><br><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> Apprentice-trained and time-served with an NVQ, HNC, HND, or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.<br><br><br></li><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong> A solid background in mechanical engineering with close-tolerance assembly skills in a machine-build environment.<br><br><br></li><li><strong>Technical Skills:</strong> Proficient in the use of a variety of hand and machine tools.<br><br><br></li><li><strong>Attributes:</strong> A logical and innovative approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.<br><br><br></li><li><strong>Compliance:</strong> Working knowledge of current Health and Safety best practices<br><br></li></ul></ul>
