About the role:
As a SEND Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a variety of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children with SEND is desirable.
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Adaptable and proactive in supporting individual pupil needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Suitable for experienced Teaching Assistants, support workers, graduates, childcare practitioners, and individuals with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
