<p><b>Waste Connections, Inc. is Hiring a Diesel Mechanic!</b></p><p></p><p>We have an immediate opening for a <b>high-energy Diesel Mechanic</b> to join the team at our Miami facility. Previous waste experience is a <b>huge plus!</b> This position is <b>night shift</b> from <b>2 PM – 12 AM, Monday to Friday</b>, with <b>every other Saturday</b>.</p><p></p><p><b>Pay:</b> $26.00 to 30.00/hr DOE</p><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-3"><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></span></p><ul><li><p>Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.</p></li><li><p>Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.</p></li><li><p>Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.</p></li><li><p>Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.</p></li><li><p>Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.</p></li><li><p>Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-3"><b>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:</b></span></p><ul><li><p>Extensive physical activity, including strenuous physical work such as heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.</p></li><li><p>Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and handle greasy or dirty tools.
