QUALITY MANAGER
Quality Manager

Job Purpose:
Lead and develop the site QA team; assuring the safety, authenticity and quality of products manufactured, whilst ensuring operations and supporting procedures are compliant to business standards & targets, recognised industry, and customer standards & codes of practice.
Main Duties:
Manage the day-to-day activities of the QA team, ensuring strong leadership and direction is provided to achieve and maintain alignment to business strategies and performance measures, driving action plans, and understanding key trends.
Support the QA team in providing training and development plans and support the teams with their decision-making processes.
As member / leader of the site HACCP team support the ongoing development, review, validation, and verification of the plan and associated quality control points and pre-requisites.
Key member of the food safety and quality culture team. Ensuring that the Food safety and Quality culture strategy, is communicated and promoted across the business.
Lead site pest-control program, collaborating with 3rd party contractor and internal stakeholders, to ensure adequate monitoring, issue identification and resolution.
Lead site-specific quality meetings, communicating success and opportunities against performance measures and collaborating on opportunities to improve.
Support the site in the scheduling, management, and completion of external audits (Group, Customer, APHA, BRCGS, for example).
Support with the completion of documentation and order processing in respect of product exports.
Through self and team: support new product developments through feasibility, production trial and sampling processes.
Management of site non-conformance, concession, hold & release systems to ensure root causes are identified where possible and suitable corrective actions implemented. Trending data to identify areas for improvement with site management team.
Collaborate with Technical Manager and Grove QA Manager to review and maintain technical procedures, including the site Quality Manual, TACCP, VACCP plans to ensure relevance and value.
Deputise for the Technical Manager, attending relevant meetings, presenting technical data, leading, and supporting key visits and audits.
To carry out any reasonable additional tasks as assigned by your manager.
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
Level 3 Food Safety qualification. [E]
Level 3 HACCP qualification. [E]
Experience of working in a quality role within manufacturing. [E] (preferably food related)
Previous management experience, leading a team. [E]
Undergraduate degree in a scientific discipline [D], or demonstrable significant experience within industry. [E]
