Bid Manager Role Summary
An award-winning architectural consultancy is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join its London studio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and highly organised bids professional to take ownership of high-value submissions while helping to shape the firm's long-term work-winning strategy.
Working closely with senior leadership and the Head of Bids, you will manage the full bid lifecycle, leading the delivery of compelling, high-quality proposals that support the business in securing prestigious projects across a diverse range of sectors. Alongside managing your own portfolio of bids, you will play a key role in supporting and mentoring the wider bids team, driving continuous improvements to processes, systems and best practice.
This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys managing multiple deadlines and is confident collaborating with stakeholders at every level of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end bid process from opportunity through to submission.
- Producing engaging, high-quality bid documents using Adobe InDesign and ensuring consistency across all submissions.
- Developing bid content, coordinating technical input and preparing presentation materials.
- Maintaining bid libraries, project case studies, CVs and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring bid performance, analysing win/loss outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve success rates.
- Supporting business development initiatives by tracking opportunities and implementing effective work-winning strategies.
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing leadership to the bids team through workload management and mentoring.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience managing the full bid process, ideally within architecture, construction, engineering or the built environment.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a bids team.
- Excellent Adobe InDesign, bid writing and editing skills.
- A strong understanding of procurement processes, frameworks and tender portals.
- Outstanding organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
