<div>Summary:</div>
<div>The primary role of a blood draw specialist is to assist in various duties, provide training, troubleshoot issues, and offer recommendations for workflow improvement.</div>
<div>Responsibilities:</div>
<div>Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, decontamination, patient information updating, etc. Collect and store specimens according to protocols.</div>
<div>Clearly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures in a courteous manner. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles or butterfly needles.</div>
<div>Ensure understanding of all physician orders. Match requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order. Check requisitions against script for accuracy.</div>
<div>Prepare specimens for transport, store samples properly, label accurately, and follow transport procedures to maintain sample integrity.</div>
<div>Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations, attend department trainings, answer calls, and provide lab results when required.</div>
<div>Qualifications:</div>
<div>Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulations</div>
<div>At least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</div>
<div>High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience</div>
