- The Data Engineer is responsible for migrating and converting data from external or legacy data models into the proprietary 3-GIS data model. The role also supports existing 3-GIS customers by implementing data updates, corrections, and enhancements required for system improvements and upgrades.
- Support data migration and data conversion activities from various source systems into the 3-GIS data model.
- Conduct data mapping exercises, collaborating with clients to understand their data structures and define mappings between source and target systems.
- Utilize tools and technologies including Python scripting, SQL/database scripting, ESRI applications, FME workbenches, and internal tools based on project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure clear understanding of data migration and transformation processes.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineers, Data Technicians, Sales teams, and Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and time management, ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and reference materials for data processes and system usage.
- Design, develop, test, and validate data extraction, transformation, and migration workflows.
- Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and project information.
- Validate methodologies and ensure data accuracy and process efficiency throughout migration activities.
- Interact directly with clients and project teams, both remotely and in person, to support project implementation.
- Provide best practice recommendations during data mapping and migration exercises.
- Experience developing scripts and automation using Python.
- Familiarity with telecommunications network data and systems.
- Working knowledge or experience with the 3-GIS data model or applications.
