serve. </font></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> </font></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">The Vocational Instructor performs instructional services of vocational and/or occupational subjects, such as business, computers/technology, carpentry, plumbing and trades which are designed to help inmates/students learn specified subject matter and acquire vocational skills.</font></p><ul><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and applicable requirements by contract.</font></li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Plan and document a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of students. </font></li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual aids and other materials. Evaluate students' performance and issue progress reports as required. Assist students with additional instruction as needed.</font></li></ul> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong><font size="3">Qualifications: </font></strong></span></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong><font size="3"> </font></strong></span></p><ul><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong><font size="3"> </font></strong></span><font size="3"><span style="text-indent: 0in; font-family: "Times New Roman";">High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.</span><span style="text-indent: 0in; font-family: "Times New Roman";"> </span></font></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Six (6) years of verified full-time, wage-earning experience in the subject vocational trade; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and two (2) years of verified full-time, wage-earning experience in the subject vocational trade is required. </font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current Florida Department of Education Professional Educator's certificate. </font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Non- certified educators must possess a State of Florida Educator's certificate, or a Florida School District issued educator's certificate in the subject area of assignment within twelve (12) months of hire. </font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Experience in correctional custody/law enforcement preferred.</font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Must have the ability to give clear instructions in the trade and/or vocational area.</font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Experience in Microsoft Office Applications is required.</font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">A valid driver's license is required.</font></span></li><li class="dot" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.</font></span></li></ul><p><i><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;"><font size="3">CoreCivic is a Drug-Free Workplace and EOE – including Disability/Veteran.</font></span></i></p><p> </p>
