About the role:
Justteachers are seeking a compassionate, resilient and proactive HLTA to join an Alternative Provision team within a mainstream secondary school in Bradford.
This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. there is the opportunity for a permanent role for the right person.
The Alternative Provision supports students who may face barriers to engagement in the traditional classroom. You’ll play a key role in helping them re-engage with education, build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored support to students with a range of social, emotional, behavioural or learning needs
- Working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver targeted interventions
- Supporting teaching staff to create an inclusive, safe and structured learning environment
- Helping students develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive learning habits
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students, families and external agencies
- Contributing to behaviour support plans and personalised learning programmes
- Encouraging students to take pride in their progress and celebrate their achievements
Pre-requisites:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or pastoral setting
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A commitment to inclusion and a belief that every young person deserves the chance to thrive
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility, creativity and a willingness to adapt to meet individual needs
- Two school or youth based references
