MFL Teacher - Sheffield

About the role:

Justteachers are urgently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Sheffield from April 2026, working full time on a long-term supply basis. The school will pay to scale for the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and confident early-career teachers seeking stability and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver and assess high-quality German and French lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Monitor, track and report on pupil progress, implementing appropriate interventions where needed.
• Foster a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes language acquisition and confidence.
• Work collaboratively within the MFL department to develop engaging resources and contribute to curriculum planning.
• Contribute to the wider school community through duties, meetings and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Pre-requisites:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching German and French at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 MFL curriculum.
• Two education-based references.
• A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with a commitment to raising attainment in MFL.
• Availability to start in January 2026 and commit to the full duration of the placement.
