Senior Housing Officer – Manchester
£28–£30 per hour (Umbrella)
3‑Month Contract – Opportunity to Go Permanent
37 hours per week
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Housing Officer to join a well‑established housing provider in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone confident in leading teams, managing complex tenancy issues, and driving high‑quality housing services. The role is initially for 3 months, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and performance‑manage a team of Housing Officers, including recruitment, induction, and ongoing development.
- Oversee housing management functions including voids, lettings, income performance, tenancy fraud, and complex tenancy/ASB cases.
- Ensure effective safeguarding practice, acting as the first point of contact for concerns and supporting staff with decision‑making and referrals.
- Monitor service performance, prepare reports, contribute to policy reviews, and ensure compliance with KPIs, budgets, and estate management standards.
Experience & Skills Required
- Previous experience in a senior or lead housing role, ideally within social housing or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management, ASB, safeguarding, voids/lettings, and income recovery.
- Experience supervising staff, managing performance, and leading service improvements.
- Confident representing the organisation at meetings, managing complaints, and working with partners, statutory agencies, and local authorities.
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
