Job Description

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist provision in Croydon for a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join their Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP).

This role supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and significant cognition and learning needs. You will deliver a highly personalised, flexible curriculum designed to ensure all learners can access education, make progress, and achieve their potential.

Students will access a blended learning approach, including mainstream lessons alongside targeted intervention and small-group teaching within the ELP setting.

A key focus of the role is building strong, trusting relationships that support engagement, confidence, and positive learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of SEND needs
• Adapt teaching approaches to ensure access, challenge, and progress for all learners
• Support successful integration between ELP and mainstream classes
• Use assessment and data to track progress and inform planning
• Work closely with SENCOs, leadership teams, and external professionals
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, provision maps, and support plans

Pastoral & Safeguarding

• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
• Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns appropriately
• Work closely with families and external agencies to support student development

Teamwork & Communication

• Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and support staff
• Maintain strong communication with parents and carers
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused SEND provision
• Support curriculum development and inclusive practice across the school

Professional Development

• Engage in ongoing CPD with a focus on SEND
• Attend training, meetings, and INSET sessions
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation

Person Specification

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with SEND learners
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
• Ability to assess, adapt, and personalise learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Desirable

• Experience in specialist or alternative provision
• Knowledge of EHCP processes
• Experience working with multi-agency teams
