Junior Front Office Developer
We are working with a Commodities borker who are seeking a Junior Front Office Developer to support the delivery of tools and applications for a derivatives trading desk, covering hedging & risk management, pricing, and ad-hoc trading activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to grow their skills alongside experienced Trading, Quants and Technology teams in a fast-paced, fintech-minded environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation and support of applications for the derivatives trading desk covering hedging, risk management and pricing.
- Help ensure trading applications meet technology testing standards with proper support plans in place.
- Work alongside Quants and Technology to understand trading requirements and contribute to well-designed solutions.
- Support the handover of tactical applications to Technology teams where appropriate.
- Assist the trading team in improving technological processes and identifying areas for efficiency gains.
Skills & Experience
- Good Python skills with a desire to develop and apply them in a production environment.
- Familiarity with software design principles and OOP; exposure to production-level code a plus.
- Keen to understand business requirements and contribute to practical, well-crafted solutions.
- Clear communicator, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage tasks across shifting priorities.
- Any exposure to financial products, derivatives or trading environments is advantageous but not required.
- 1–3 years of relevant development experience.
