Painter & Decorator

Are you an experienced Painter & Decorator with your own van, tools, and a valid CSCS card, looking for your next contract? A well-established company is looking for a reliable Painter & Decorator to work on a school refurbishment project in Eastleigh, must live in good travelling distance of the area.

This Painter & Decorator role offers 6 weeks' work with an ASAP start date, carrying out mainly external painting works across the school site, maybe across 2 x school sites if required.  The successful Painter & Decorator will join a professional team delivering high-quality finishes while working safely in a live environment. There may also be some interior decorating work as the project progresses. The ideal person will have strong experience in all aspects of painting and decorating, be confident working externally, and be comfortable working from tower scaffolds and, where required, scaffolding. Applicants should live in Eastleigh or within a reasonable commuting distance.

Duties

• Carry out all aspects of painting and decorating.
• Complete mainly external painting works across the school.
• Paint railings, fascias, soffits and window reveals, all exterior.
• Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling and priming.
• Work safely from tower scaffolds and, where required, scaffolding.
• Complete any interior decorating works as required.
• Maintain clean and organised work areas.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Work to a high finish.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Painter & Decorator.
• Valid CSCS card is required.
• DBS certificate is advantageous.
• Own van and tools are essential.
• Strong knowledge of painting and surface preparation.
• Comfortable working at height from towers and scaffolding.
• Reliable with strong timekeeping.
• Must provide two satisfactory references.
• Live in Eastleigh or within a reasonable commuting distance.
• Provide 2 x sources of references.
