About the role:
Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Great Yarmouth that is looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to deliver engaging learning experiences and providing valuable classroom support. The successful candidate will play an important role in encouraging pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development while working closely alongside teaching staff to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum through individual, small-group, and whole-class support.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons that inspire and motivate pupils.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support children’s progress in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, adapting activities where appropriate.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environment.
- Foster pupils’ confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation and displays.
- Monitor and record pupil progress where appropriate, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Support pupils during school activities, educational visits, and breaktimes when required.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all children remains a priority.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting children across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
- Strong organisational skills and a willingness to take initiative.
- A commitment to inclusion and ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Two recent education-based references.
