About the Role
HII, a global, all-domain defense provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Security 2 in our Arlington, Virginia office (Emergency Management & Security).
The Director of Security and Emergency Management is a senior security leader responsible for advancing the division’s security strategy and integrating security disciplines in support of operational performance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
This role provides leadership across a broad portfolio including physical security, logical security integration, crisis management, emergency management, insider threat, business continuity and resumption, and industrial security programs. The Director ensures these capabilities operate as an integrated system that protects people, facilities, information, and operations while enabling mission success.
Serving as the principal security advisor to divisional leadership, the Director translates complex risk environments into practical strategies that align security capabilities with operational priorities and government contractual requirements.
The position leads a team of security professionals and develops a high-performance organization grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Director is responsible for strengthening leadership capability within the security function and ensuring the team is prepared to operate effectively during both steady-state operations and crisis conditions.
The Director oversees the integration and execution of security programs, budgets, and resources while ensuring alignment with corporate security policies and regulatory obligations. Working closely with corporate security, legal, human resources, information technology, and operational leadership, the role ensures divisional security initiatives are integrated with enterprise governance and risk management frameworks.
The Director also leads the planning, exercising, and operational response for crisis and emergency events, coordinating with executive leadership, divisional partners, and public safety agencies to ensure effective decision-making and operational continuity.
Through strategic leadership and disciplined program execution, the Director strengthens the organization’s ability to anticipate risk, safeguard mission-critical assets, and sustain operational resilience in an evolving security environment.
Must Have
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience) plus 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience

Must have Top Secret DOD Clearance or be able to obtain TS clearance.
