About the Role
<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>
<h3>Estimating & Bid Preparation</h3>
<ul>
<li>Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents.</li>
<li>Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for commercial and industrial electrical projects.</li>
<li>Develop accurate cost estimates and competitive bid proposals.</li>
<li>Analyze project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities.</li>
<li>Prepare scope clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions for bid submissions.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.</li>
<li>Negotiate pricing and ensure competitive procurement strategies.</li>
<li>Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain current market pricing.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Project Support:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors during preconstruction planning.</li>
<li>Assist with value engineering recommendations and cost-saving alternatives.</li>
<li>Support project teams with budgeting, cost tracking, and estimating updates throughout project execution.</li>
<li>Prepare pricing for change orders, revisions, and additional scope requests.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Process Improvement:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost records, and pricing libraries.</li>
<li>Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.</li>
<li>Monitor market trends, material pricing, and labor costs to improve estimate accuracy.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Required Qualifications:</h2>
<h3>Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.</li>
<li>Proven experience preparing detailed estimates for electrical projects from concept through bid submission.</li>
<li>Experience estimating projects involving commercial buildings, industrial facilities, manufacturing environments, food-processing facilities, or similar complex construction projects is highly preferred.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Technical Knowledge:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.</li>
<li>Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and construction regulations.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Software & Technology:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience with electrical estimating software and digital takeoff platforms.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.</li>
<li>Familiarity with project management and construction management software is preferred.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Preferred Qualifications:</h2>
<ul>
<li>Background in design-build electrical construction.</li>
<li>Experience with industrial controls, automation systems, or process facilities.</li>
<li>Familiarity with renewable energy and solar electrical systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of medium-voltage electrical installations.</li>
<li>Electrical field experience as an electrician, foreman, or project engineer is highly desirable.</li>
</ul>
