POSITION TYPE: Design Center Intern (Unpaid Internship)
HOURS: 15-20 Hours a week

About the ASW Design Center:


The ASW Design Center is a dynamic, collaborative space where students from elementary to high school engage in hands-on, creative problem-solving. With dedicated workshop areas for woodworking, textiles, robotics, graphic design, high manufacturing, and computer programming, students use industry-standard tools and applications to design, build, and test functional products. The Design Center serves as an open hub for students, teachers, and the broader ASW community, fostering innovation, risk-taking, and skill development in a safe and supportive environment.

Internship Overview
The Design Center Intern will gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art Design Center, supporting students and teachers in creative design projects, tool usage, and problem-solving activities. This role is ideal for university students, aspiring educators, innovative artists, or designers looking to develop their skills in design thinking, digital fabrication, and educational technology while working in a vibrant international school setting.
 


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Background in design, engineering, education, or a related field (current students!).
Experience or interest in digital fabrication, maker spaces, or hands-on design projects.
Ability to work collaboratively with students and educators in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Passion for design thinking, sustainability, and innovation in education.
