A warm, informal household of 3 adults and a newborn baby is seeking a friendly, adaptable Private Cook/Chef to support their day-to-day food needs. This is a relaxed and welcoming environment, ideal for someone who enjoys becoming part of a family’s routine.
The property is based in a beautiful rural setting but also has the benefit of only being a 30-minute drive to York centre.
Job specification:
You will take full responsibility for the kitchen, providing fresh, healthy, and simple meals throughout the day. The family enjoys variety but prefers uncomplicated, well-balanced dishes.
Daily duties include:
Preparing breakfast (7:30–8:00am), lunch, and dinner (7:00pm)
Preparing packed lunches
Menu planning with a focus on healthier eating
Grocery shopping
Managing kitchen inventories
Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
Occasional dinner party cooking
There is a natural break in the afternoon before returning to prepare dinner.

Passionate about healthy, fresh, and simple cooking
Friendly, flexible, and able to blend seamlessly into family life
Organised and proactive with menus and shopping
Pet-friendly – there is a cat and dog living in the home, and the property is based on a stud farm
A confident driver (essential)
Accommodation:
You will be provided with self-contained 1-bedroom accommodation in a separate annex with access to on-site gym.
The family are more than happy if you would like to return home on your days off or make this your permanent residence.
