About the Role
<p>We are looking for a motivated Furnace Operative to join our client’s team. You will work closely with the Furnace Supervisor to ensure furnaces are running efficiently and safely, supporting production targets and responding quickly to day-to-day operational needs.</p>
<p>Shift/salary:</p>
<ul>
<li>Core hours Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00</li>
<li>During peak periods required to work nights, 12 hour shifts & weekends</li>
<li>Premium rates paid for nights, weekends, bank holidays, overtime</li>
<li>Weekly pay</li>
<li>Temporary to permanent opportunity</li>
</ul>
<p>The role:</p>
<ul>
<li>Support the Furnace Supervisor with the running and checking of the furnaces</li>
<li>Work Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (with flexibility for operational requirements)</li>
<li>Be able to work days, weekends, and nights when required</li>
<li>Carry out start-up and shut-down procedures for the furnaces</li>
<li>Monitor and adjust furnace control panels as required</li>
<li>Respond to and assist with production faults and any operational issues</li>
<li>Change miller screens and complete cleaning tasks including vacuum and filter changes/cleaning</li>
<li>Monitor readings and running levels to ensure the correct specification is met</li>
<li>Communicate and liaise with R&D engineers and the R&D manager to support production and quality requirements</li>
<li>Ensure production targets are achieved, recording average stats and total output accurately</li>
<li>Carry out general fault finding and troubleshooting while the furnace is running</li>
</ul>
<p>The candidate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe working practices</li>
<li>Hard-working, reliable, and able to work effectively in a busy environment</li>
<li>Basic computer literacy (including Excel), and confidence using internal systems for data logging</li>
<li>Basic understanding of electrical systems</li>
<li>Full training will be provided</li>
