SEND Teaching Assistant - Stockport

About the role:

Justteachers are looking for a full time empathetic teaching assistant to join a state-of-the-art SEND school in Stockport to cover on a long term basis starting in September.

 

This specialist setting supports children aged 4–11 with a diverse range of SEND needs.

 

The position is a long-term, temporary role starting in September and allowing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one.

 

Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and carers about each pupil’s progress and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored support to students with additional needs within a dedicated provision setting.

 

Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective behaviour strategies.

 

Drive a positive and inclusive learning environment.

 

Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted interventions.

 

Offer consistent support for students’ social, emotional, and sensory needs throughout the school day.

Pre-requisites:

Proven experience working with children in SEND settings or within focused intervention roles.

 

Strong understanding of SEND approaches and a dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments.

 

Able to maintain a calm, steady, and positive manner when supporting learning and managing behaviour.
