Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist

• Provide respiratory care to adult critical care patients
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures
• Perform oral and nasal airway placement and suctioning
• Collect sputum specimens for analysis
• Manage tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation weaning
• Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms on respiratory equipment

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist

• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
• Certification in BLS, RRT, CRT
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical/religious exemptions considered
