What made you apply for Hyundai MOBIS?

I had a good impression of MOBIS after I happened to watch a TV ad campaign on the Junior Engineering School launched to return science to children. Then I started looking for a job and learned that MOBIS is a specialized auto parts maker that serves an important role in the development of vehicles for the future, and then became even more interested in the company. I decided to apply for MOBIS in hopes of growing together with the warm-hearted company that leads the auto parts industry with it’s cutting-edge technology, and at the same time, fulfills its social responsibilities.

Please tell us what you think about MOBIS from the perspective of a new employee.

I believe MOBIS is a company looking to grow at a global level. Seeking growth for an international stage beyond the domestic regions, it has offered a variety of opportunities to its employees. During the new employee training period, I had a chance to visit China for a week. By visiting an overseas factory and conducting research in a group, I could learn about the Chinese market. I think MOBIS is global oriented in that it supports its employees to exercise their full capabilities even in other countries.

What is the biggest change you experienced after joining MOBIS?

After joining the company, I came to know more about the automobiles and got more interested in them. As my undergraduate major was a Humanities course, I was unfamiliar with the automobile structures or related terms before working for MOBIS. However, I became more familiar with automobiles while taking the engine apart and putting the pieces back together in the automobile structure course during the new employee training period. After joining the PR division, I’ve had many chances to get involved in such automobile events as motor shows and KSF. And I think I’ve gotten even more familiar with the automobiles by staying updated with the news and reading related books since then.

What would you like to achieve at MOBIS in the future? Please tell us about your career aspirations.

I’d like to become a recognized CSR specialist at MOBIS. The more I learn about my duties, the more interested I become in the aspect that CSR is crucial in mutual growth between a company and communities. I plan to train myself with practical tasks as soon as possible, and gain a range of knowledge through on-the-job trainings or books. That way, I’d like to take the important responsibility of presenting MOBIS’s CSR activities as representative exemplary cases both in and out of Korea further on.

Please briefly introduce your division and responsibilities.

The Management Support Division contributes to management by fulfilling its duties for the company and employees in terms of personnel affairs, human resources, general affairs, public relations, and IT tasks. I am a member of the CSR team under the public relations division, in charge of social contributions. MOBIS’s representative social contributions consist of four ‘Moves.’

They include a Happy Move (represented by a Junior Engineering School), a Safe Move (represented by a distribution of bubble umbrellas), an Easy Move (represented by a support for travel convenience of disabled children), and a Green Move (represented by the establishment of MEER Forest). We have recently extended the social contribution activities from domestic regions to overseas to fulfill the social responsibility as a global enterprise.
 

What is it that you like the most among your responsibilities? When do you feel most rewarded?

I think the biggest advantage of CSR-related duties is to deliver genuine help to those in need while contributing simultaneously to elevating the company’s brand values. It is attractive that CSR-related duties have positive impacts on the overall society by distributing bubble umbrellas to raise the awareness of children’s traffic safety or supporting travel conveniences of disabled children to enhance their quality of life. Lately, I have felt proud of my job while collecting written thoughts from the employees after participating in the bubble umbrella distribution. When I read that an employee took pride in himself for enlightening students and teachers about the awareness of traffic safety and letting them know about MOBIS while delivering the umbrellas and conducting the traffic safety education, I felt it was rewarding to be responsible for social contributions.

New comers can be reimbursed for their cost associated with acquiring qualifications in connection with their jobs, including classes, textbooks and test fees.

Smart learning & Learning Times

Training topics accessible to new comers include jobs, skills, leadership, language and book-learning. They can have flexibility in attending the training during business hours within the limit of 2 hours per week.

In-house startups

Any Mobis member can suggest a business, and if his/her idea is selected, he/she will have support in developing and eventually commercializing the idea.
