<h2>Position Overview</h2>
<p>We are seeking an experienced<strong> Lead</strong> <strong>DevOps Engineer</strong> to lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise cloud architecture within a federal environment. This role focuses on <strong>architectural leadership, strategic planning, and technical oversight</strong> rather than hands-on engineering execution.<br>The Azure Cloud Architect will define cloud architecture standards, guide DevOps and engineering teams, and ensure Azure environments are designed for <strong>scalability, resilience, security, and compliance</strong>. The architect will collaborate closely with engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions align with mission objectives and federal security requirements.<br><strong>Location</strong>: United States (Remote; DMV region preferred)<br><strong>Clearance Requirement</strong>: U.S. Citizenship required; must currently hold or have previously held a Public Trust designation.</p>

<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>
<h3>Cloud Architecture & Strategy</h3>
<ul>
<li>Design and oversee <strong>highly available, secure, and scalable Azure architectures</strong> across compute, storage, networking, and identity services.</li>
<li>Define <strong>enterprise Azure reference architectures, patterns, and best practices</strong> for development teams.</li>
<li>Establish architectural guidance for <strong>Azure identity, governance, policy enforcement, and monitoring frameworks</strong>.</li>
<li>Evaluate and guide the adoption of <strong>cloud-native Azure services and modernization strategies</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<h3>DevOps & Infrastructure Architecture</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define architectural standards for <strong>Infrastructure as Code (IaC)</strong> implementations using Terraform and ARM templates.</li>
<li>Guide DevOps teams in implementing <strong>automated CI/CD pipelines</strong> using Azure DevOps and cloud-agnostic tooling such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory.</li>
<li>Ensure IaC approaches support <strong>repeatable, secure, and auditable infrastructure deployment patterns</strong>.</li>
<li>Provide architectural oversight of <strong>container-based deployment models</strong> including Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).</li>
</ul>
<h3>Cloud Migration & Modernization</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead architecture planning for <strong>migration of on-premises workloads to Azure</strong>.</li>
<li>Evaluate workloads and recommend <strong>cloud-native transformations</strong> leveraging services such as:</li>
<ul>
<li>Azure Virtual Machines</li>
<li>Azure App Service</li>
<li>Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)</li>
<li>Azure Key Vault</li>
<li>Azure Active Directory</li>
</ul>
<li>Develop strategies for <strong>hybrid connectivity and networking architectures</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Governance, Security & Compliance</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define Azure governance strategies including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Azure Policy</li>
<li>Role-based access control (RBAC)</li>
<li>Identity and access management</li>
<li>Monitoring and observability</li>
</ul>
<li>Ensure architecture aligns with <strong>federal security and compliance requirements</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement</h3>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the <strong>technical authority for Azure architecture</strong> across the program.</li>
<li>Provide architectural guidance to DevOps engineers, cloud engineers, and development teams.</li>
<li>Translate mission needs into <strong>technical architecture strategies and roadmaps</strong>.</li>
<li>Communicate architecture approaches and tradeoffs to <strong>government stakeholders, ACIOs, and program leadership</strong>.</li>
<li>Lead technical discussions and design reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise cloud strategy.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>U.S. Citizenship required</strong></li>
<li><strong>Current or previous Public Trust designation</strong></li>
<li><strong>Minimum of 6 years of experience designing and implementing Azure cloud architectures</strong>, including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Highly available cloud architectures</li>
<li>Azure identity and governance</li>
<li>Storage and compute services</li>
<li>Virtual networking and hybrid connectivity</li>
<li>Azure policy and proactive monitoring</li>
</ul>
<li><strong>Minimum of 6 years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)</strong>, including Terraform and ARM templates.</li>
<li><strong>Minimum of 6 years of DevOps experience focused on Azure technologies</strong>, including cloud deployment automation and pipeline development.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience architecting <strong>CI/CD strategies</strong> using:</li>
<ul>
<li>Azure DevOps</li>
<li>GitLab</li>
<li>Jenkins</li>
<li>Artifactory</li>
</ul>
<li>Strong understanding of <strong>containerization technologies</strong>, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).</li>
<li>Experience designing <strong>cloud migration strategies</strong> and translating on-premises workloads into cloud-native architectures.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Azure ecosystem services including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Azure Active Directory</li>
<li>Autopilot / Intune</li>
<li>Microsoft 365 / Office 365</li>
<li>SharePoint</li>
<li>Exchange</li>
<li>OneDrive</li>
</ul>
<li>Proficiency in scripting languages such as <strong>PowerShell, Bash, and Python</strong>.</li>
<li>Exceptional <strong>written and verbal communication skills</strong> with the ability to clearly present technical strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>

<h3 data-start="3508" data-end="3536">Compensation and Benefits</h3>
<p data-start="3538" data-end="3912">Pluribus Digital offers a competitive salary that is determined at the time of offer. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with salary ranges aligned accordingly. If a candidate is a strong fit at a more junior or senior level to what is outlined here, we will assess them accordingly and apply the appropriate salary range during the hiring process.</p>
<p data-start="3914" data-end="4166">The range for this specific role is from <strong data-start="3955" data-end="3979">$150,000 - $170,000</strong> depending on experience. Salary is augmented with opportunity to earn annual bonus and medical/dental/vision benefits, PTO, company paid life insurance and a generous 401k match program.</p>
