The Junior Innovation Engineer is primarily responsible for identifying, investigating, and validating new innovation opportunities by designing, building, and testing prototypes and by conducting proof‑of‑concept (PoC) activities. The role has a strong hands‑on, experimental focus, turning early ideas into tangible technical solutions that can be assessed for feasibility, value, and scalability. Your tasks Conducting simple proof-of-concept tests that can include CAD drawings as well as some hands-on mechanical and controls tests or programming in e.g. Python or so Evaluating project feasibility in the early stages Identifying, selecting, and commissioning suitable partner companies or universities for project support Independently managing and executing innovation projects Structuring and planning projects to ensure their successful implementation. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams from mechanics, electrical/control systems, and software Documenting developed systems and prototypes so they can be used by the target groups without further support. Willingness to work partially in other places within Europe (e.g. for testing prototypes) Your profile Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar field.
