<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious <strong>OHL Transmission Project Engineer</strong> to support the delivery of major overhead line transmission works as part of the Great Grid Upgrade programme with National Grid.</p>
<p>This role involves contributing to high-profile overhead line projects ranging from refurbishment works to new build schemes. <p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Plan, monitor, and lead OHL wiring works across transmission projects.</li>
<li>Develop crossing schedules and wiring methodologies to support safe and efficient delivery.</li>
<li>Manage design interfaces and coordinate technical activities with internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Review RAMS to ensure robust safety and operational controls are in place.</li>
<li>Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring works are delivered to programme, quality, and safety standards.</li>
<li>Maintain strong stakeholder relationships through clear communication and engagement.</li>
<li>Chair and participate in project meetings, providing updates and technical input.</li>
<li>Plan and manage OHL resources to meet project milestones.</li>
<li>Conduct setting-to-work activities to ensure clarity of scope, risks, and control measures.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and organisational standards.</li>
<li>Support client liaison to maintain alignment and resolve issues effectively.</li>
<li>Complete quality checks and maintain accurate project documentation.</li>
<li>Produce lookahead schedules to support forecasting and programme delivery.</li>
<li>Assist with final project handover, ensuring all deliverables meet required standards.</li>

<p><strong>Skills, Experience & Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in an OHL Site or Project Engineer role.</li>
<li>Proven track record delivering OHL transmission project elements.</li>
<li>Experience managing subcontractors effectively.</li>
<li>Strong technical understanding of OHL transmission methodologies.</li>
<li>Experience with setting-to-work processes.</li>
<li>Good working knowledge of relevant safety legislation within OHL transmission environments.</li>
