Rhino Medical is seeking an experienced Cardiologist for an inpatient locum tenens role supporting a hospital-based practice in Blacksburg, Virginia. This position focuses on interventional cardiology procedures, trauma, and acute cardiac event coverage, including 24/7 STEMI support for Chest Pain accreditation.

This role involves scheduled shifts from August 14-17 and August 28-31, 2023, totaling approximately 8 days per month, with 24-hour shifts and confirmed call structure. The practice environment includes active nursing and APP support, with an inpatient setting managing approximately 15 patients. The facility utilizes the EWCC EMR system and supports robust clinical operations in trauma and cardiac care.

Candidates must hold a Virginia medical license, be Board Certified in cardiology, and possess active BCLS and ACLS certifications, along with required procedural experience and clinical certifications. Preferred experience includes inpatient interventional cardiology, trauma, and STEMI protocols, along with multi-site hospital coverage.

Clinical Scope

• Performing interventional cardiology procedures within inpatient hospital setting
• Providing trauma and acute cardiac care in accordance with trauma and STEMI protocols
• Supporting Chest Pain accreditation for 24/7 STEMI coverage
• Active participation in hospital trauma and cardiac response teams
• Managing a patient load of around 15 patients

Requirements

• Active Virginia state medical license
• MD degree (implied)
• Board Certified in cardiology
• BCLS and ACLS certifications
• Required clinical certifications and procedural experience in interventional cardiology
