About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible to support team for ensuring that Risk Reporting and Data controls are implemented and maintained in BAU for Model Risk Management (MRM) in accordance to BCBS239 and GDMS. The person needs to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards Purpose of the role Support MRM for BCBS239 and GDMS data governance and framework initiatives including Full Compliance Support BCBS239 lead to represent the team at relevant data/control governance forums and working groups Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement of the control environment Planning and change management for specific BCBS239 and GDMS projects Monitor adherence to data governance controls and escalate data issues as needed Define data ownership, stewardship and accountability for risk data elements Stakeholder Management and Leadership Support regulatory and audit requirements related to Model Risk data Engaging with stakeholders and ensuring that projects are clearly defined, deliverables and milestones established, governance structures set up Leading meetings with difficult stakeholders at times, thereby maintaining strong professional relationships Tracking against success criteria Provide timely resolution and guidance on BCBS239/GDMS queries and updates Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with zero tolerance on quality Decision-making and Problem Solving Ability to develop or maintain tools for automation of activities either related to items in the teams book of work, or automation of activities in other parts of Model Risk. Evaluate and report on project statuses, including RAG Project KPI measurements Adherence to timeline Speed of execution Desired skills Experience in Risk or other parts of Banking: ability to understand Risk and/or banking products and explain them at a high level. Communication - Strong communication skills. Can produce concise, organized and thoughtful presentations for technical and non-technical audiences Project Management – Ability to run projects independently and has a grasp of PM concepts and best practices (experience in PM tools i.e. JIRA, MS Project) Technical skills - MS Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, Visio and SharePoint skills) Knowledge of / experience in Python and SQL preferred You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
