About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a passionate and dedicated Health & Social Care Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield from September 2026. This is a full-time teaching position running until December 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
- Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements.
- Differentiate learning materials to meet the needs of all learners.
- Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and school events where required.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Health & Social Care within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of relevant examination specifications.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two school based references.
