<p>Our client, a well-established and successful manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team in Northamptonshire. <p>The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, plant machinery, and site services to ensure maximum operational efficiency and reliability.</p>

<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p>·Fault finding, servicing, and repair of production machinery and plant equipment</p>
<p>·Maintenance of machine drive mechanisms and rotating machinery</p>
<p>·Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and process systems</p>
<p>·Maintenance and testing of plant services and site facilities</p>
<p>·Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults efficiently</p>
<p>·Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documentation</p>
<p>·Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives</p>
<p>·Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures</p>

<p>Requirements</p>
<p>·Recognised engineering qualification such as Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, City & Guilds, or equivalent industry experience</p>
<p>·Proven experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial maintenance environment</p>
<p>·Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Experience working with:</p>
<p>·Conveyors</p>
<p>·Elevators</p>
<p>·Grinders</p>
<p>·Weighing equipment</p>
<p>·Rotating machinery</p>
<p>·Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings</p>
<p>·Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities</p>

<p> </p>
<p>Desirable Skills</p>
<p>·Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical bias and electrical fault-finding experience</p>
<p>·Pneumatics experience</p>
<p>·Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Working Hours</p>
<p>·Monday to Friday</p>
<p>·07:30 – 17:30</p>
<p>·1-hour lunch break</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Daily overtime included:</p>
<p>·7.5 hours paid at basic rate</p>
<p>·1.5 hours paid at 1.5x overtime rate</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Following a successful probation period (maximum 6 months), engineers participate in an on-call rota, typically one week in six, with the option to work night shifts during call-out weeks.</p>
<p>Please note: Applicants must be willing to participate in on-call rotas and work weekend overtime when required.</p>
