Overview
The environment is stable but under-optimised, with a “vanilla” ERP setup and multiple integrations creating unnecessary complexity. This role will focus on simplifying data flows, improving system connectivity, and unlocking more value from operational and financial data.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s data posture while laying the foundations for future reporting and ERP optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- Improve data extraction, usability, and connectivity from a Syspro ERP environment
- Design and deliver custom applications and data transfer solutions using middleware (e.g. Dataswitch)
- Build workflows and automation within Syspro to streamline processes (sales orders, production, goods receiving)
- Simplify and optimise integrations across APIs, internal systems, and a central data layer
- Lead integration between Syspro, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and automated racking systems
- Work with IT, engineering, and third-party integrators to build and maintain system interfaces
- Ensure data exchange protocols (API, file-based, etc.) are secure, scalable, and monitored
- Develop SQL-based processes (stored procedures, SSRS reporting, data pipelines)
- Build dashboards to enable near real-time visibility of operational KPIs and system performance
The role will evolve over time, with scope to expand into broader reporting, ERP optimisation, and data initiatives once core integrations are improved.
Success Criteria
- Improved integration and connectivity across ERP, automation systems, and data platforms
- Simplified, scalable data flows with reduced manual intervention
- Increased automation across operational and finance processes
- Improved visibility of KPIs and system performance
- Clear, demonstrable value delivered through independent ownership

- Strong understanding of automation and middleware platforms
- Ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Experience with Syspro (strong preference)
- Exposure to Dataswitch or similar middleware tools
- Experience with AMR, robotics, WMS, or automated racking integrations
- Finance systems knowledge (costing, stock, margin reporting)
- Background in manufacturing, pharma, or SaaS environments
Profile
