About the Role
This is a long-term supply opportunity within Key Stage 2, ideal for a teacher who is looking for consistency and the chance to embed themselves within a school setting.
You will take responsibility for a KS2 class, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they progress through the upper primary curriculum. There is also the opportunity to contribute to wider school life and take on additional responsibilities where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across the KS2 curriculum
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching where necessary
Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage expectations, including SATs (where applicable)
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities and needs
Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
At least 2 years’ experience teaching within KS2
Strong curriculum knowledge, particularly in English and Maths
Confident in managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
A committed and adaptable approach to teaching
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
Experience preparing pupils for SATs
Experience supporting children with SEND
A track record of raising attainment and supporting pupil progress
