This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated SEND professional to lead and develop the school’s provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring every child receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.
The Role
The successful SEN Provision Manager / SENDCO will:
- Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring it meets statutory requirements and best practice.
- Identify, assess, and monitor the progress of pupils with SEND, implementing effective support strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff, support staff, parents, carers, and external agencies to provide tailored interventions.
- Oversee and maintain Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), SEND documentation, and annual reviews.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development for colleagues to promote inclusive teaching practices.
- Contribute to the school’s strategic vision for inclusion and ensure high-quality provision for all learners.
Pre-requisites:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or has relevant experience in SEND leadership.
- Holds, or is willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), where applicable.
- Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
- Has experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language, and learning difficulties.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Is committed to promoting an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
