Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Encourage children’s learning through play, exploration, and practical experiences. Support pupils’ early development in communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal, social, and emotional development. Adapt activities to meet the needs of all learners, including children with SEND where appropriate. Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce the school’s behaviour policies and values. Observe and support children’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where appropriate. Prepare classroom resources and help maintain an organised, stimulating, and welcoming learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to support children’s development. Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and other school activities when required. Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all pupils at all times. Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing high-quality education for every child. Pre-requisites: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential. Previous experience working within an EYFS or Reception setting is desirable. A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children’s learning and development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A flexible and proactive attitude. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Two recent education-based references.
