About Us: At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. Job Posting Title: ISG Analyst 1 or 2 Position Type: Professional / Unclassified Department: LSUPBRC Admin - Computing Services (David Eugene Alexander (00005088)) Work Location: LSU - Pennington Biomedical Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking an ISG Analyst 1 or 2 in Computing Services. The applicant will work with a small team of IT professionals to manage, configure, support and design enterprise infrastructure systems and services. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and communication skills, can manage multiple priorities, and works effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Major Responsibilities Configure and maintain server operating systems (primarily MS Windows Server) and related applications and services. Configure, install, and maintain server and network hardware, included related power and cabling infrastructure. Monitor device and network service availability and performance., analyze logs, diagnose and resolve outages and impairments. Configure and manage virtualization environment and enterprise network storage. Administrative responsibility for enterprise tape backup environment. Perform backups, regularly test restore operations, rotate tapes, and maintain backup targets. Assist in backup-related hardware and software installation and upgrades. Assist with hardware and software procurement. Recommend, evaluate, and help to develop specifications and solutions. Function as tier 2 support escalation path for cases referred and managed by Help Desk. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. IT Analyst 2 requires 3 - 5 years of experience in an IT related position. Extensive experience in the Microsoft Windows ecosystem, including many of the following: Windows Server, Windows 7/10, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, NPS, IIS, SCCM, WSUS, RDS, CIFS. Significant experience working with Server and Network hardware in a data center environment and related power/copper/fiber infrastructure management. Proficiency in system design, database management, and enterprise software. Effective communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with project management and agile methodologies.
