DevOps Engineer (Active SC Clearance Required)

DevOps Engineer – 12 month contract – £425/day Inside IR-35 – Remote

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a long-term programme supporting business-critical AWS-hosted platforms operating within a secure environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone making their first move into contracting. You’ll be joining an established engineering team where you’ll work alongside experienced platform and development engineers, gaining exposure to modern cloud technologies, infrastructure automation and operational support within a large-scale environment.

The role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation and platform operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting and maintaining AWS-hosted infrastructure and platform services
• Working with Terraform to manage Infrastructure as Code
• Supporting Docker-based applications across development, test and production environments
• Assisting with the maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy and GitLab
• Monitoring platform performance, availability and reliability
• Troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment and service issues
• Supporting Linux and Windows-based systems
• Working with PostgreSQL databases and associated platform services
• Contributing to automation, platform improvements and operational resilience initiatives
• Collaborating closely with development and support teams to improve service delivery
• Please note, occasional participation in an on call rota may be required

What we’re looking for

We’re less interested in finding someone who has done everything on the list and more interested in finding a strong engineer with a solid DevOps foundation who wants to continue developing their skills.

You’ll likely have experience with several of the following:

• AWS
• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
• Docker
• Jenkins, GitLab or other CI/CD tooling
• Linux administration
• Monitoring and alerting tools
• Scripting and automation
• Troubleshooting production systems
• Working within Agile engineering teams

Nice to have

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• PostgreSQL
• NGINX
• Elastic / Kibana
• Networking technologies including VPNs and API Gateways
• Python scripting
• Container platforms
• Security-focused environments
• .NET, C# or modern web applications

• Has built up several years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud or Platform Engineering position
• Enjoys solving technical problems and supporting live services
• Wants to broaden their cloud and automation experience

• Has strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
