(depending on experience) + Bonus + EV Car & Share Scheme + Healthcare + Pension + Benefits</strong></p><h4><strong>Senior Software Controls Engineer</strong></h4><div><p>Youâll join Actemium Automation Huddersfield, part of VINCI Energies, as a Senior Software Controls Engineer. In this handsâon role you will design, develop and support PLC and SCADA software solutions for industrial automation projects across manufacturing and process sectors. You will work closely with project teams, electricians, commissioning engineers and clients to deliver safe, reliable and efficient control systems that meet technical and commercial requirements.</p></div><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Lead software design, development and documentation for PLC (Mitsubishi and Schneider Electric) and SCADA/HMI systems.</p></li><li><p>Create and maintain control system architecture, functional specifications, I/O lists and software build schedules.</p></li><li><p>Develop structured, modular, and wellâcommented code following company and industry standards (SIL/ISA where applicable).</p></li><li><p>Support FATs, SATs and onâsite commissioning activities, including diagnostics, troubleshooting and software modifications.</p></li><li><p>Integrate PLC/SCADA with field devices, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus) and higherâlevel systems (MES, ERP).</p></li><li><p>Produce and maintain technical documentation, test plans, wiring and loop diagrams, and asâbuilt drawings.</p></li><li><p>Mentor and support junior controls engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and client site rules at all times.</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What Youâll Bring</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Proven experience in PLC and SCADA software engineering, ideally in a senior or lead role.</p></li><li><p>Handsâon experience with one or more PLC platforms (Mitsubishi and Schneider Electric).</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with SCADA/HMI packages (Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk or similar).</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of industrial communications, I/O, instrumentation and control theory.</p></li><li><p>Experience of commissioning and faultâfinding on live systems; comfortable working on client sites.</p></li><li><p>Excellent technical documentation skills and attention to detail.</p></li><li><p>Good interpersonal and mentoring skills; able to collaborate across multiâdisciplinary teams.</p></li><li><p>Relevant electrical or control engineering qualification and full UK driving licence.</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What We Offer</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Competitive salary and pension.</p></li><li><p>25 days holiday plus bank holidays, healthcare and wellbeing benefits.</p></li><li><p>EV Car & Share Scheme</p></li><li><p>Continuous professional development, formal training and excellent progression opportunities within VINCI Energies.</p></li><li><p>Supportive team culture and flexible working arrangements where operationally feasible.</p></li></ul><div><p><strong>About us</strong></p><p>Actemium Automation Huddersfield, part of the VINCI Energies group, delivers safe, sustainable and innovative automation solutions to industrial clients.
