Shear Operator

Ōnin Staffing is hiring a Shear Operator for a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for cutting metal materials to exact specifications using shear equipment, ensuring every piece meets quality and production standards. Skills and Experience What You’ll Be Doing  Operate shear machines to cut metal sheets, plates, or materials to required sizes   Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements   Set up and adjust machine settings based on material type and thickness   Inspect finished materials to ensure accuracy and quality   Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean   Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines   Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals  What We’re Looking For  Previous experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred   Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic measurements   Strong attention to detail and accuracy   Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods   Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn   Dependable with a strong work ethic  Experiance  Operating shear machines, press brakes, or similar equipment   Working with metal fabrication or production environments   Reading blueprints or following detailed work instructions   Using measuring tools like tape measures, calipers, or gauges
