Teaching Assistant 1:1

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to deliver SEN support in a junior school in Nuneaton. This full-time role will start in September 2026 and will run until January 2027, working across KS2.

The school is a larger junior setting based in a well-established residential area. It supports pupils within KS2 and is known for its structured approach to learning and strong focus on pupil progress and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the student’s individual education, behaviour, and care plan.
• Use positive behaviour strategies, de-escalation techniques, and clear routines to help the student manage their emotions and behaviour.
• Monitor and support academic progress, working collaboratively with the class teacher.

Pre-requisites:

• A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
• Experience working 1:1 with children within the KS1 setting.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure.
• Two professional references from an educational or care background.
