Operations & Purchasing Manager Location: Brooklyn, NY Schedule: Full-Time, In-Office Salary: $100,000–$150,000 DOE Commission Structure: To be determined About the Role A growing electrical supply company is seeking an experienced Operations & Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s backend operations. This role is not just focused on purchasing — it is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the business runs efficiently behind the scenes. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, operational experience, and the ability to manage purchasing, inventory, vendors, processes, and internal workflows. This person will help create structure, improve efficiency, and ensure the company has the right systems in place to support continued growth. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day backend operations and improve internal processes. Manage purchasing activities, including vendor relationships, pricing, ordering, and negotiations. Monitor inventory levels and ensure products are available when needed. Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and organization. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate terms to maximize profitability. Work closely with sales and management teams to ensure operational needs are met. Identify inefficiencies and create solutions to improve workflow. Track purchasing trends, costs, and opportunities for savings. Help manage supply chain processes from ordering through delivery. Create accountability and structure within operational processes. Support company growth by building scalable systems and procedures. Requirements Proven experience in purchasing, operations, supply chain, or a related role. Experience in electrical supply, distribution, construction supply, or a similar industry is a strong plus. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze costs, identify opportunities, and improve processes. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities. Experience building systems and procedures is highly preferred.
