<h2>Process Engineer</h2> <p>We are recruiting for a <strong>Process Engineer</strong> to join a highly advanced manufacturing business operating within <strong>aerospace and defence.</strong></p> <p>This role is ideal for an engineer looking to work in a <strong>technology-led environment</strong>, where <strong>process innovation, materials engineering, and market-driven development</strong> are critical to success.</p> <hr /> <h2>The Role</h2> <p>As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in <strong>developing and optimising casting and manufacturing processes</strong>, ensuring both <strong>technical excellence and alignment with market requirements</strong>.</p> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Developing and improving<strong> processes </strong></li> <li>Using <strong>simulation tools and data analysis</strong> to optimise yield, quality, and cost</li> <li>Supporting <strong>New Product Introduction (NPI)</strong> from concept through to production</li> <li>Conducting <strong>market research and competitor benchmarking</strong> to inform process and product improvements</li> <li>Driving <strong>continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma)</strong></li> <li>Working closely with quality, metallurgy, and production teams to meet <strong>aerospace standards (e.g. AS9100, Nadcap)</strong></li> <li>Monitoring KPIs such as scrap reduction, cycle times, and process capability</li> </ul> <hr /> <h2>About You</h2> <p>We are looking for a technically strong engineer with exposure to <strong>high-value manufacturing environments</strong>, ideally within aerospace, metals, or advanced materials.</p> <p>You will ideally have:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in <strong>Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineering</strong></li> <li>Understanding of <strong>metallurgy, process simulation, or material behaviour</strong></li> <li>Experience working to <strong>aerospace or regulated industry standards</strong></li> <li>Strong analytical mindset with the ability to link <strong>process performance to market and customer requirements</strong></li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>continuous improvement tools (Lean / Six Sigma)</strong></li> </ul> <hr /> <h2>Salary &amp; Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>£42,000 &#8211; £45,000 base salary</li> <li>Annual bonus</li> <li>Pension scheme</li> <li>Ongoing technical training and development</li> <li>Clear progression into <strong>Senior / Lead Process Engineering roles</strong></li> </ul> <p>WR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing &amp; technical sales jobs.
