Facilities/Building Maintenance Asst Pay Grade 4

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and repair of a commercial facility in Jacksonville. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the building and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-motivated, and experienced in a variety of maintenance disciplines including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor HVAC support

• Conduct routine inspections of facility systems and equipment

• Complete preventative maintenance tasks on schedule

• Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in a timely manner

• Maintain exterior grounds as needed (light landscaping, minor repairs, etc.)

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment

• Coordinate with vendors or contractors when specialized repairs are required

• Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, or handyman services

• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building repairs

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

• Dependable with strong attention to detail

• Good communication skills and ability to follow direction

• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in various environments

• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
