About the Role
Analyst (Materials / Product Testing)
If you are passionate about science, curious by nature, and genuinely enjoy learning how things work, this could be a great fit.
This role sits within a fast-moving, materials-focused business developing next-generation bio-based materials for high-performance applications. You will work at the intersection of scientific research and engineering, supporting laboratory-based development and the technical teams responsible for translating materials from concept through to application and scale-up.
It is a strong opportunity for an Analyst who enjoys getting hands-on in the lab, takes pride in producing high-quality data, and is motivated by continuous learning. You will build deeper technical expertise while seeing your work directly inform real engineering decisions.
You will join a business that values curiosity, learning and scientific rigour, and encourages people to keep developing their skills. It is an environment where good science is respected and where your work helps bridge the gap between research and practical engineering delivery.
What you will be doing:
Providing analytical support across scientific and engineering teams, you will help turn experimental data into practical, application-ready insight. This will include:
Running routine and complex analytical methods to support research, development and engineering activity
Collecting, analysing and interpreting results, then communicating findings clearly through reports and presentations
Supporting the development and validation of new analytical methods, learning and applying industry best practice
Troubleshooting and optimising testing methods in collaboration with scientists and engineers
Operating and maintaining analytical equipment to ensure consistently high-quality output
Performing materials testing and characterisation to evaluate performance and suitability for scale-up
Working closely with scientific and engineering teams to meet project goals
Adhering to laboratory safety, quality and regulatory standards
What we are looking for:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (2:1 or 1st) in a relevant scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Materials Science, Analytical Science, Textiles or Leather Science
A genuine passion for science, materials and continuous learning
Familiarity with analytical methods for testing materials, ideally including bio-based materials
Comfortable working across both scientific and engineering-led teams
Strong organisation, data handling and attention to detail
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting results to different audiences
Industry or research experience in analytical science or materials testing
Exposure to CASE materials testing including coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers
Experience with polymers, biomaterials or textile-related production environments
