About the Role
The Senior Specialist, Customer Strategy is responsible for researching attractive business opportunities for Grainger and help develop customer strategies to drive incremental growth. This role supports the development of execution plans and coordinates with business units to implement strategic objectives. Partners with cross-functional teams responsible for executing a variety of customer growth tactics within the identified opportunity, including (but not limited to) product assortment changes, pricing adjustments, customized marketing campaigns and sales force education.
This is a hybrid position that is onsite in Lake Forest 3 days a week.
You Will
Monitor emerging threats / opportunities in the market and conduct research to stay ahead of market trends and provide insights that will inform strategic decision-making
Identify and research attractive new business opportunities (e.g., industries, customers, products) and support development of customer strategies to drive incremental growth
Analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.
Synthesize research and data analysis findings into presentations that articulate key elements of the strategy and go-to-market execution plans.
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Merchandising, Coverage, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Sales) to implement growth opportunities to drive growth via improved offer (e.g., product, price, service) or tailored go-to-market touches (e.g., coverage, sales, marketing)
You Have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a strategy-oriented role.
Experience working in large B2B businesses, ideally focused on the industrial supply MRO market.
Experience with researching industries and customers to synthesize findings to contribute to the development of customer strategies.
Experience with analytics, including gathering, interpreting, and synthesizing data to generate actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions.
Experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and execute initiatives.
