About the Role
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>On behalf of our client, we are seeking a <strong>Part Time Finance Manager / Financial Controller</strong> to oversee finance operations and provide ad-hoc support across the business. This role reports to senior directors and plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and statutory submissions, and delivering real-time reporting.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will manage core finance processes across several construction projects, helping to drive informed decision-making through clear financial information, cash-flow forecasting, and support with year-end accounts.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities will include</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Process and manage employee payroll.</li>
<li>Handle Construction Industry Scheme deductions.</li>
<li>Administer pension schemes and contributions.</li>
<li>Prepare and file HMRC submissions and required tax returns.</li>
<li>Produce real-time financial reporting and up-to-date statements.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate bookkeeping across multiple projects.</li>
<li>Oversee trade credit accounts, supplier payments, and related controls.</li>
<li>Forecast cash flow and manage liquidity requirements.</li>
<li>Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts.</li>
<li>Provide overhead information and financial insight to directors.</li>
<li>Undertake general ad-hoc finance-related tasks as required.</li>

<p><strong>The Person</strong></p>
<p>The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic finance professional with strong analytical skills and experience supporting a growing business. You will be confident working independently, comfortable handling a varied workload, and able to provide accurate information to Directors.</p>
<ul>
<li>Strong mindset and drive, with a proactive approach to work.</li>
<li>Construction finance experience, including familiarity with CIS deductions and VAT.</li>
<li>Xero proficiency, either certified or gained through proven practical experience.</li>
<li>Advanced Excel skills, including complex modelling and reporting.</li>
<li>Growth-focused attitude and motivation to contribute to an expanding company.</li>

<p><strong>The Hours</strong></p>
<p>18 hours per week. Hybrid working arrangement: office-based on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with 1 hour unpaid lunch; the remaining 6 hours worked remotely.</p>

<p><strong>The Salary</strong></p>
<p>£20–£22 per hour</p>

<p><strong>The Location</strong></p>
<p>Bristol, with car parking. Hybrid working applies, with office attendance on Mondays and Wednesdays and remote working for the remaining hours.</p>
