Lost Insulation Operative
IMH Recruitment are looking for an experienced Loft Insulation Installer / Loft Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working in domestic loft spaces, including removing, bagging and disposing of old insulation, sweeping and preparing loft areas, and installing new loft insulation to a high standard.
This is a physically demanding role and requires someone who is comfortable working in confined loft spaces and has previous experience carrying out loft insulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Access and work safely within domestic loft spaces.
- Remove existing loft insulation where required.
- Bag and safely handle old insulation and waste materials.
- Sweep, clear and prepare loft areas ready for new insulation.
- Install and relay loft insulation in accordance with the required specification.
- Ensure insulation is fitted evenly and to the correct depth.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and free from unnecessary waste.
- Follow all relevant health & safety procedures, particularly when working at height and in confined spaces.
- Take care around electrical cables, water tanks, pipework and other loft services.
- Complete work to a consistently high standard.
- Report any issues, damage or potential hazards identified while working.
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential:
- Previous hands-on experience working in lofts and installing insulation.
- Experience removing, bagging and handling loft insulation.
- Experience preparing loft spaces, including sweeping and clearing.
- Good understanding of safe working practices within loft spaces.
- Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Insulation and Building Treatments – Loft Insulation, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Hours and Pay
Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm
£30,000-£38,000 dependant on experience
Licence/Certification:
- Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Insulation (required)
