Behaviour Support - Halifax

About the role:

 Justteachers is seeking a confident and motivated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in the Halifax area on a long-term basis. This full-time role is due to start in September, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs to engage positively in school life
• Delivering targeted interventions to improve behaviour, attendance and engagement
• Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and parents to implement behaviour support strategies

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children or young people in an education, youth work or support setting
• A strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
• The ability to remain calm, resilient and professional in challenging situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Two recent professional references, ideally from education or school-based settings
